Camping in Spain
Spain is a camping destination with a long-standing tradition. Spaniards love summer camping. However, there are also a lot of European pensioners who spend the winter on Spanish campsites.
Camping in Spain comes in all shapes and sizes. There are campsites located across the whole country, however the largest and the best can be found along the Mediterranean coastline, especially on the Costa Brava, the Costa Dorada and the Costa Blanca. This is also where the LeadingCampings of Spain are located. Inland and along the Atlantic coastline, there are mainly smaller campsites with simpler facilities. The campsites located in Catalonia are particularly popular due to the accessibility of Central Europe. However, it is mainly the Costa Blanca and Andalusia, further to the south, that offer winter sun and wonderful beaches. Due to the extensive travel required, only a limited number of holidaymakers visit Spain with tents, caravans or camper vans. A growing number of visitors are taking advantage of “fly & camp” offers, booking bungalows or mobile homes on the Spanish campsites.
