The excellent leisure activities of the Lake Constance region are best discovered from Camping Wirthshof: hiking, cycling, visiting old cities and enjoying the pleasant climate. Here you will cross the Upper Swabian Baroque Route as well as one of the three premium hiking trails called “BodenseeLandGänge“, the “Lug-Ins-Land” trail that offers interesting day trips with a view of the Alps and the Feldberg.
As an example, you will see mainly regional products at the farmers market, the Hofscheuer inn and the restaurant, and the facilities have been awarded the highest environmental classification issued by the EU. The campsite is located at the foot of the Gehrenberg mountain, seven kilometres from Lake Constance, which can be easily reached by bicycle. The historical town of Markdorf is only a short walk away. Although the Wirthshof is already 40 years old, time has never stood still for the Wirth family and the campsite is characterised by constant modernisation. Furthermore, guests can enjoy themed weeks depending on the season. As an example, the campsite offers apple, wine, nature experience as well as wellness and fairytale weeks.

From Camping Wirtshof you can reach many excursion destinations for the whole family. Above Camping Wirthshof and the town of Markdorf with St. Nicholas' Church and the Witches' Tower, the Gehrenberg rises to a height of more than 750 metres. The Gehrenberg is crowned by an observation tower, the Großherzog-Friedrich-Warte, built in 1903. Its steel framework is somewhat reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower.
From the top, in good weather, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Markdorf, the whole of Lake Constance and the Alps. If the visibility is good, you might even see the Zugspitze. On hikes or bike tours, you can discover the paths along Lake Constance, the moors of the Hepbacher-Leimbacher Ried and the many orchards and vineyards in the region. Spectacular is the abyss called "the slide", which was created at Fuchsbühl during the great earthquake of 1911.
The Ravensburger Spieleland offers great fun. Fans of technology and nostalgia can visit the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen directly on the lake or the Zeppelin Museum in the enchanting old town of Meersburg. Animal lovers can get up close and personal with Barbary macaques at the Salem Monkey Mountain. An excursion to the flower island of Mainau leads straight into a lush, almost Mediterranean world of blossoms and palms. On boat trips on Lake Constance, for example from picturesque Constance, Meersburg or the island town of Lindau, you can enjoy the wide blue and the view of the Alpine peaks.
