Camping De Wildhoeve

Hanendorperweg 102, JJ 8166 - Emst, Gelderland

For the past 60 years, Camping De Wildhoeve has been located on the edge of the unique nature reserve of the royal Houtvesterij Het Loo, surrounded by wildlife and nature in the Veluwe. The badger is one of the numerous natural neighbours of Camping De Wildhoeve. From his den, he roams through woods and fields, and sometimes across the campsite.

Human campers reside in complete peace, either in individual niches, in clearings or in fields. In order to preserve the character of the campsite, vehicles are parked separately. Hikers and cyclists get their money’s worth: endless cycle tracks and hiking trails run across the Kroondomein (royal domain) Het Loo and the Veluwe. Discover deep forests, pasture and heath land, idyllic canals and watch deers or other animals in the wild. Nearby, you can even go for a walk with a donkey!

The campsite provides a maximum of comfort

Enjoy the subtropical indoor pool and the many games and services on offer. Look forward to culinary delights when you review an active-relaxing holiday day in the evening. The brasserie team offers authentic dishes freshly prepared and predominantly based on regional products. This is why the brasserie is entitled to call itself “Euro-Toques Restaurant”.

Surroundings Camping De Wildhoeve

Gelderland

The Paleis Het Loo with its magnificent park near Apeldoorn is a popular destination. The baroque castle was built at the end of the 17th century and was the summer residence of the Dutch royal family until 1975. Today it is a museum. The palace park impresses with its fascinating geometric baroque design. For those who like to dine like royalty: gourmets will find no less than two restaurants with 3 Michelin stars in the vicinity of Camping De Wildhoeve (5 and 20 km). If your children prefer to do their own baking, visit the Dutch Bakery Museum in Hattem. It will delight you with many hands-on activities.

Charming shopping and cultural towns

In Elburg you can set sail by boat or visit the historic corn mill. For strolling and shopping, head to tranquil Epe with its many terrace cafés. In Epe, the local history museum Hagedoorns Plaatse will take you back in time, with many traditional costumes and a museum farm. You can also visit the large weekly market in Apeldoorn or the historic Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zwolle. Along the Liberation Route you will discover memorials to the Second World War, such as the lost village, which was built as a hiding place for persecuted people.

Many fun and animal parks nearby

If you and your family love animals, visit around 400 monkeys at Apenheul Primate Zoo, also in Apeldoorn. Burgers Zoo with its exciting safari area is also a hit for families. Do your children love action and fast-paced rides? Then visit Walibi World or the Julianatoren amusement park. Is the weather not quite so nice? No problem! Board the indoor adventure playground Schateiland (Treasure Island) Zeumeren with your little buccaneers.
