Leaves are changing colour, the first fresh snow lies already on the higher mountains: autumn is a wonderful time to travel, and all LeadingCampings, that are still open, are looking forward to your visit. Hiking, cycling, customs and cultural events are now in high demand. Instead of sitting in front of the camper, in the awning or on the mobile home terrace as it is possible in mild summer nights, now the wellness facilities, the sauna or the cosy restaurant are tempting. Camping, and especially LeadingCamping, has really nothing to do with the privations of the early years. However, what has remained, is the intimate connection with nature, enriching the kitchen and cellar with the large harvest of the summer. Many Leadings have extended their opening period during autumn longer than it was usual before Covid-19. This is a reaction to changes in booking behaviour: many trips where postponed to autumn, since travelling in 2021 was partly impossible. The prolonged opening period seems to be something that Covid-19 brought us and will remain afterwards. Therefore, we are working at full speed on a consistent booking system. The trial operation is already working smoothly for about a third of our member campsites. The others will follow. With this, the LeadingCampings also want to become more uniform and hospitable in the digital experience. Whether digitally or live on site: We look forward to welcoming and pampering you at all 36, soon to be 37 Leading locations in 10 countries across Europe. | |

| Adiø Norge After six years of good partnership, we are parting company. Hallingdal Feriepark, undisputedly still the best campsite in Norway, is leaving LeadingCampings on 31st of December 2021. This means, that in future there will also be one less country where you can find LeadingCampings: Norway. Hallingdal Feriepark was our only LeadingCamping north of Denmark. This is also one of the reasons for leaving: too few guests from Central and Southern Europe have found their way to the far north. In the meantime, the campsite has consequently become part of a national chain of seven campsites in southern and central Norway, the TopCamps. This chain is increasingly dedicated to intra-Scandinavian guests and concentrates its marketing efforts on the Nordic market. Neither did the quality of the facility decrease nor did we argue - it is simply a strategic decision that we respect. Hallingdal Feriepark remains our recommendation for your Norway trip on the stage Oslo – Bergen. However, in future the LeadingCard won’t be accepted. We thank for the pleasant cooperation since 2015. More information: https://topcamp.no/ |

| Leading meeting As reported in the last newsletter, the LeadingCamping owners met physically for the first time in one and a half years. Camping Sylvamar had invited to Landes Sud at the French Atlantic coast. However, because only half of the entrepreneurs could be there at the end of September due to seasonal reasons, a hybrid event was organised with some effort: The contributions and discussions of the meeting days were streamed live for those at home, and vice versa, some external lectures were brought to the attendees on the screen. In addition to the essential decisions for 2022, such as the budget, the distribution of funds to individual areas and the development of membership for the coming year, it was particularly good for those present to finally sit around the table and exchange ideas in real life rather than via video. Visions for the future are simply better discussed in this way. The hosts Marie-Charlotte and Luc Dulayet gave a tour to their campsite including the highlight: the artificial volcano as part of the pool landscape. At its back an amphitheatre with a stage is located. Its scenic wall can be opened towards the crater lake. In front of this dream backdrop, the Leading delegation is waving. | New Dutch member In the Netherlands, Camping De Twee Bruggen in the Achterhoek will join the LeadingCampings from January 2022. The full-range tourist centre - a hotel is in the planning stage - impresses with plenty of space, large plots, a wide range of rental offers, and an extensive range of sports and games, including a pet’s corner for the children. De Twee Bruggen is located just over the Dutch-German border near the lively shopping town of Winterswijk. This is also the home of the huge camping accessories discounter Obelink, a European Mecca for campers. The water offerings of de Twee Bruggen with a slide, outdoor and indoor swimming pools are complemented by the Slingeplas bathing lake. And there are convincing gastronomic offers in addition. Many pitches already have private sanitary facilities and new, particularly large luxury pitches will have this to a pioneering high standard. The architecture combines modern, clean lines with natural materials such as local wood and felt. The campsite hides its size by cleverly dividing it into attractive landscaped zones. De Twee Bruggen is open all year round, is an ADAC Superplatz and is very conveniently located, yet in secluded tranquility. More information: www.detweebruggen.nl | |
| 15th Camping Day Already for the 15th time, the Bavarian Camping Day International will take place. Between November 8th – 10th, camping entrepreneurs from Bavaria and neighbouring countries will meet for workshops and exchange of ideas. The event, which was already planned as a virtual one, may now take place with real people in real surroundings after all, albeit limited to 100 participants. The focus of the conference and exhibition will be on electro mobility, but in addition the topics of profitability and pricing, the Bavarian camping guidance system, and the law for campsites will be addressed, too. The lecture event will take place in hybrid format, i.e., will also be available online. The venue is the Bavarian Spa Triangle with its well-known high camping standards. The kick-off will take place at LeadingCamping Holmernhof Dreiquellenbad in Bad Griesbach. The activities are spread over three days with different focuses, the camping day takes place under the current Covid-19 rules: tested, recovered, or vaccinated, distance, mask.
