The 60th Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf is over. It has been benevolently noted in earlier years and is of great significance this year: it was the first large public fair of the year and should check after two seasons under Covid-9 conditions whether people have a desire for holidays or have already resigned. 185,000 visitors gave a clear answer: The industry is alive, the interest in camping, caravanning and van life is unbroken. The trade fair company as well as exhibitors deserve great praise for an excellent trade fair concept with wide aisles, plenty of air and countless contributors from the ‘Prot-Action’ team. The friendly but alertly team ensured, that distances and hygiene were obeyed. The vaccinated, recovered, or tested visitors were extremely disciplined and did not make it too difficult for the Prot-Action team. After the record year 2020 with over 150,000 newly registered leisure vehicles in Europe, the manufacturers are looking fully motivated into the future. They are forecasting a further increase for 2021, although they are all suffering from supply problems and therefore cannot produce the quantities that the market demands. In the new trade fair layout, in Hall 3 was the attention for tourism some less between fleece jackets and bagged soups as the number of visitors was noticeably lower than in the vehicle halls. Therefore, LeadingCampings felt more at home in hall 9 with Fendt, Hobby, Kabe and PiNCAMP. Thank you for taking home over 1,000 Holiday Guides. Perhaps you will find some ideas for your Leading holiday in autumn. In any case, we look forward to welcoming and pampering you at all 36 Leading locations in 11 European countries. | |

| LeadingDay It is not so easy, to organise an eventful LeadingDay under Covid-19 conditions. As a reminder: each LeadingCamping chooses one day of the year to promote the other members of our Excellence Group. Guests of the respective campsite should be made aware of the values and offers of the LeadingCampings of Europe. Camping Čikat on the Croatian island Losinj has given a nice example of a day full of attractions. There, the LeadingDay took place on September 2nd. Despite all the restrictions due to the pandemic rules, it turned out to be a great and safe event. Smiling faces and positive energy became the main protagonists during children's entertainment and sports competitions. A large chocolate cake with the Leading logo was served for refreshment. You could also learn that the mascots of Camping Čikat and Aquapark Čikat can read (big picture above the newsletter) - or were they just looking at the beautiful photos in the Holiday Guide? | Leading meeting 18 months in the pandemic have also left marks among the LeadingCamping owners - each one is very busy with their own problems on-site. Nevertheless, the desire to meet as a group and set the course for 2022 in personal exchange is great. After too many video conferences, there will be a physical general meeting for the first time since January 2020. Traditionally, the autumn meeting takes place at a member campsite. We are grateful that Sylvamar Resort and Spa invited us to the south of France - our colleagues want to see the innovations on site, especially the first artificial volcano on a campsite. It is part of the bathing area, and its eruptions take place as a laser show. However, there are also serious topics, for example the budget for the coming year, the development of membership and the upcoming board elections in January. In short, about everything that concerns the for better or worse of LeadingCampings. The fact that we meet in person is also meant to show that we ourselves like to trust our own product: motivating people to travel across national borders and enjoy safe stays at camping facilities. | Latest study With around two thirds of all newly registered leisure vehicles in Europe, Germany is and remains the driver of the European caravanning boom. The number of people in Germany, who are involved in some way with caravanning, has risen further – up to almost 20 million now. With a current master study - published by consulting ‘gsr’ and ‘puls’ market research in cooperation with ‘Auto Bild Reisemobil’ and other partners - a very accurate picture can be drawn of the owners, leasers, and those, who are strongly inclined towards caravanning holidays: Where are the preferences for purchase, rent and use? How is the decision made? How much is invested? What are the preferred sources of information? What is the opinion about brands, trade, and service? The answers to these and other questions can be found in the comprehensive study report, which will be published at the beginning of October. With over 10,600 population-representative respondents in Germany, the study represents a profound basis in terms of sample and depth for strategic considerations and future decisions in the camping market. Our picture shows the authors Niklas Haupt from ‘puls Marktforschung GmbH’ and Stephan Lützenkirchen from ‘gsr Unternehmensberatung’. More information: www.gsr-unternehmensberatung.de | |
