The confusing camping situation in Europe is slowly clearing up a bit. Meanwhile, the LeadingCampings in Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, and Portugal have all opened or are about to open such as Country Resort Papillon and Europacamping Nommerlayen from April 23rd onwards. In Croatia, Camping Čikat has already opened, Zaton Holiday Resort follows after another postponement on May 15th. France has imposed a strict lockdown throughout April, campsites plan to operate from May 7th. Everywhere certain rules will apply, like in some places swimming pools, wellness facilities or indoor restaurants are not yet allowed to open or only with restrictions. In Denmark, as of mid-April, the opening of indoor areas could be possible from May 21st onwards. The situation in Austria is mixed. Now the LeadingCampings there have no reliable data from the government but hope for an opening during May. The Alpencamping in Nenzing goes an interesting special way: you can rent pitches as a picnic area for a day stay and then be spoiled by the restaurant Garfrenga outside the house. On the other hand, contactless check-in/ check-out is also possible and 2 people per pitch can stay overnight. Austrians need a negative test, whereas foreigners must go to a strict quarantine (free testing possible after five days), for the duration when only the on-board sanitary facilities may be used. In Italy, the situation is mixed, too: Union Lido would like to open in mid-May, Caravan Park Sexten has not yet set a fixed date, Piani di Clodia will open on May 19th and Barco Reale will not open until Whitsun on May 22nd. Open campsites are one thing, travel restrictions are another: Before travelling, please be sure to check the current regulations for your country and the countries you plan to visit. Our quality manager will also take advantage of the new freedom to travel as soon as possible and set off on his first inspection tour with the brand-new Malibu T 430 quality van. We hope for complication-free travel. We will do everything to finally welcome and pamper you again at 36 locations in 11 European countries. | |

| Leading Academy In addition to many things that we would rather get rid of today than tomorrow, Covid-19 also brought something that will stay: We offer now online courses additionally to our employee training courses. What was initially born out of necessity during the pandemic, will now be a permanent part of our training offer for employees at LeadingCampings. 24/7 they can catch up on everything concerning LeadingCampings. For this purpose, a folder with clearly arranged relevant documents is available as well as initially four 30-minute video tutorials. This tutorial video library will be expanded in the future. However, we do not intend to abandon the former once-a-year physical staff training sessions. They will also be continued when it will be possible to travel again. We are convinced: no matter how good online content is, it cannot replace personal encounters and getting to know the other campsites of the group in depth. The personal contacts and the live experience of exemplary solutions remain the extra something of all further training offers - online tutorials lack the group dynamics and the fun factor. | TV at Papillon On the very last day in March a TV production team shot parts for another episode of WDR's popular "Ausgerechnet..." series. Presenter Daniel Aßmann calculates this time, how expensive luxury camping is. To do this, of course, he first had to fight his way through the jungle of terms between camping, luxury camping and glamping, because the transitions are known to be fluid. At Country Resort Papillon, he experienced at first hand the transformation of an already very well-equipped campground into a glamping resort. The freshly installed private sanitary units at the pitches were inspected as well as the large construction site with the new luxury mobile homes and safari tents. LeadingCampings managing director Eicke Schüürmann was happy to answer his questions. Daniel Aßmann himself already has Leading experience: last year, an episode of "Ausgerechnet" was broadcast about rental campervans, for which he had travelled to La Marina Resort in Spain. "Ausgerechnet Luxuscamping" will be shown on May 12th in the evening programme of WDR TV and subsequently also in the WDR media library. | Modern front desk The former reception building of the Portuguese LeadingCamping Turiscampo has already been too small for quite some time. In 2018, the registration desk initially moved across the street to a bright and friendly office mobile home as an interim solution. However, guests had not to get used to this in the long run: In the meantime, the significantly enlarged new building with two floors, is back in its traditional place to the right of the driveway. The new reception offers space for simultaneous service at several counters. The modern, straight-lined architectural design matches the sanitary buildings, the indoor swimming pool and wellness complex and the fitness centre, that were recently built on Turiscampo. Thus, the Portuguese LeadingCamping has created a noble entrance. The re-naming at the same time to Turiscampo Camping Club Algarve makes sure, where this quality camping is situated in Portugal. | Bicycle-friendly The ‘Bike Station’ is a significant innovation at Playa Montroig Camping Resort. It upgrades the campsite for bike fans and bike tourists. On the one hand, guests will find a parking area guarded around the clock. On the other hand, they will receive extensive information on the various bike routes around Montroig del Camp, a municipality with an exceptionally good network of bike paths. The tracks can be divided into road or mountain bike routes. Bicycle rental service completes the offer, making Playa Montroig Camping Resort an officially recognised bicycle-friendly campsite. Three tennis courts expand the sports offer. They have just been equipped with artificial grass, an ecological option that is hard-wearing, reduces the risk of abrasions and does not damage shoes.
