Overall, the SARS-CoV-2 situation is easing. Politics, public administration and health system have gained knowledge, so that the restrictions can now be limited to regional spots. Lockdowns relating to the situation instead of a complete lockdown will probably accompany us for a while. Social distancing and hygienic regulations stay in force for good reason. Especially camping is allowing greatest possible freedom. Lots of people have understood that. And now caravan- and camper merchandisers have stumbled in no time from an existential fear to an unforeseen customer demand. We would like to encourage you, not only to plan a camping holiday in your home country, but as well in the European neighbouring countries. All LeadingCampings are prepared very well to provide their guests a wonderful relaxing holiday due to serious hygienic concepts. Some of them have a certified quality label. This applies to camping with your own equipment as well as to accommodations to rent. While camping scores with good concepts, other tourism industries lie idle. However, LeadingCamping holidays in Europe can become something very special: whenever could you experience Venice without cruise ships, and lots of tourists as well as sights and attractions without annoying hustle? Due to the great camping demand we ask you very urgently not to start without reservation. In 11 European countries we are looking forward to finally welcoming you.

| ADAC-Talk live After the great success of the webcast ‘ADAC Talk: travel and Covid-19 –the situation of holiday summer 2020’ on June 18th, the ADAC planned a second live stream on July 9th. In June, Dr. Dieter Nirschl, chairman ADAC e.V. and Norbert Kunz, director of the German tourism association, discussed travelling in general as well as the situation of hotels and airlines. They debated concepts, which allow tourism in Germany and the European countries during the pandemic. On July 9th, Uwe Frers, director of the ADAC camping Ltd. and Eicke Schüürmann, director of LeadingCampings of Europe e.V., answered the questions from the audience. ADAC spokesperson Katrin van Randenborgh was moderating in the proven manner. The topic of the evening was ‘camping during SARS-CoV-2 times – is it possible?’. Frers and Schüürmann agreed, that no other tourism form is better to adapt to pandemic circumstances. However, they made clear, how important thoughtful concepts of the hosts and their compliance are. Camping during SARS-CoV-2 times is only working with the necessary discipline of the guests. Therefore, travelling at random is not appropriate at the moment. Since lots of people have discovered camping for themselves, popular destinations might be fully booked. For five years, every new LeadingCamping gets an introduction training before the season starts. After waiting since beginning of April, director and quality manager of the LeadingCamping could head off to the Normandy on June 15th. The picture shows the team during practical exercises at the of front desk computers. At this time, it was very quiet at Camping L’Anse du Brick, only 8 families were being hosted. | Covid-19 App international The Covid-19 Warning App published by the German government has also been available internationally since June 26th. The tracing app temporarily stores data in the user's smartphone, not on central servers. For this reason and because the source code has been disclosed, it is considered to be data protection compliant and spy-proof. The Corona Warning App will gradually be available internationally as well. This is already the case in most of Germany's neighbouring countries. The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Romania and Bulgaria - the Corona-Warning App of the German Federal Government has been available in these countries since the end of June. For legal reasons, the Corona-Warning App of the German government was previously only available in the German App-Stores of Apple and Google. Now, however, the internal borders in the Schengen area are largely open again, with thousands of commuters and holidaymakers crossing the border lines every day. The publisher of the app, the Robert Koch Institute, is therefore conducting individual case studies with the aim of making the application available in as many countries as possible. For the first ten countries this has now been achieved. Further countries are being tested and will be released in the App stores step by step. Photo: picture alliance / dpa / Stefan Jaitner | |
| Crosscamp Awards The German Brand Institute has awarded two prizes to Crosscamp, the youngest brand of the Erwin Hymer Group. The expert jury was impressed by the overall concept summarised under the trend theme "Urban Outdoor". Eight experts judged a total of 1,200 submissions under the auspices of Andrej Kupetz, Chief Executive of the German Design Council. The young Hymer brand scored double points: With the "Best-of-Best" label in the "Product Brand of the Year" category and the Gold Award in the "Transport & Mobility" category. The experts praised the "consistent translation of the growing urban outdoor trend into an innovative vehicle concept", the "strong and very good brand management", the "catchy name" and the "authentic brand world" around the Campervan brand, which was only established in 2019. "Due to increasing urbanisation and large-scale densification in urban areas, more and more people are feeling the desire for nature and nativeness," says Stefan von Terzi, explaining the strategic background of the brand. "At the same time, the Millenials/Generation Y target group cultivates a digital lifestyle and likes to share their experiences in social media. This is exactly the point where we started the communication". And this is how the brand shows itself in social networks and blogs, which are all about nature experiences and a very special aesthetic and living environment. Crosscamp is the first brand of EHG to fully rely on digital communication channels and is a pioneer in influencer marketing as well as content generation and distribution. For the Crosscamp brand launch, a systematic lead management concept from initial contact to purchase was established - with data-based range generation, early, cost-efficient transfer of interested parties into own channels and CRM-supported, automated transfer processes.
