what a year is now coming to an end! In March we feared a total breakdown. Two thirds of our campsites are open all year, the first travel restrictions and later border closures hit some in the ski season, others at your wintering in the south - an experience that is currently repeated in the winter lockdown. This threatened our very existence and we immediately put contingency plans and contingency budgets in place. With the summer and the relaxations, the Central European, especially the German, Dutch, Danish and Austrian and South Tyrolean LeadingCampings then visibly recovered because many people discovered camping as a safe form of travel. Things look worse the further south you go. Croatia, Italy south of Lake Garda, large parts of France, Spain and Portugal are among the big losers. Here, it will take years to stabilize operations again.
This year in particular, your loyalty to us has been especially important and we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Not a single infection has been reported at a LeadingCamping and our hygiene concepts are mature and high-season-tested. This allows us to look to the future with confidence: With the prospect of widespread vaccinations next spring and summer, as well as more outdoor activities with the weather, we firmly believe in a great camping season in 2021.
