The today’s trip from the kitchen table is leading to the Zillertal in Austria, or more precisely to the Erlebniscamping Aufenfeld. In the surrounding of this LeadingCamping you can discover lots highlights all year round. Sportive activities such as hill walks, mountain biking or skiing as well as cultural excursions to Innsbruck make every day special. The traditional restaurant is always nice for a relaxing dinner afterwards. However, today we cook one of the most popular dishes ourselves:
300 g rolls from the previous day
100 g bacon
1/2 onion
10 g butter
3 eggs
1/4 l milk
4 tbs chopped parsley
a little salt and chives
1 - 2 tbs flour
Cut the rolls into approx. 1 cm big cubes and place them in a bowl. Dice the bacon and fry it in a frying pan at medium heat. Peel and dice the onions and add them to the bacon. Slightly sautée them, then add 2 table spoons of parsley. Add this mixture to the rolls. Whisk the eggs and the milk and pour over the rolls. Add flour and butter, season with salt, blend, press together and place to the side for approx. 30 minutes. Boil salt water in a pan. Shape six dumplings with your hands, place in the boiling water and cook for approx. 15 minutes.
Serve with green salad or coleslaw.
