Sometime, lock-down and travel bans will be over again - and then it’s starting again. However, in the midst of Covid-19 time, rules and regulations have changed and many people didn't even realise it. Since January 1st 2021, there is a new rule in France for vehicles over 3.5 tons gross vehicle weight, which is the majority of campers. Nothing has changed for vehicles under 3.5 tons and caravans. For the heavier mobiles a 250 mm x 170 mm sticker (about the size of a LeadingCampings Holiday Guide) is necessary, which points out the blind spots (French: Angles morts). Three of these stickers have to be affixed to the motorhome, otherwise a fine of 165 € may be imposed. In accordance with the regulations, one must be affixed to each side and one to the rear. The stickers must be attached at a height of at least 90 cm above the road surface up to a maximum of 1.5 m and must not obscure the vehicle lights.
