Caravan industry is grieving for a founding father. On March 5 Gerhard Reisch passed away ageing 81 years after a short heavy illness. The Schweinfurt (Germany) based pioneer has been in the business since 1960. The biggest footprints he left in the field of motorhome dump stations and warm water heating systems. He participated in 58 Caravan Salons. But this is not the only reason why the industry is not really imaginable without him – Gerhard Reisch has been a lovely guy, absolutely down-to-Earth and world’s best joke teller. He also was a spendable host and active as a carnival jester’s speaker. His eye-catching painted ClouLiner could not be overseen in the rows of EMHC, the Euro Motor Home Club. In the board of this club he also set some touristic marks. Our thoughts go out to his wife Maria and his son Christian who is today Germany’s representative of Alde warm water heating systems. It will not be easy to do without Gerhard Reisch but it will be very easy to hold his memory in the highest esteem.
