The ‚Deutsche Umwelthilfe‘ (Environmental Action Germany) has slapped a ban on diesel vehicles substandard Euro V at all 40 LeadingCampings. Although the board of LeadingCampings has beavered away feverishly on an air monitoring plan, finally it was not convincing. The idea was, that vehicles can only drive in to the campsites only one at a time and with a long distance. A barrier would be automatically closed after each vehicle and the next camper could not drive in before a reopening of the barrier. However, this equalization would not be enough on typical high season days, says Jürgen Resch of the DUH. LeadingCampings have offered to close the barriers, which are closed normally between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., more often depending on the air pollution. This additional effort has been rejected as well as being not sufficient. The driving ban is entering into force as from 1st of AprilApril.
