As a camping destination Denmark is one of the top spots in Europe. The country boasts a great number of campsites, most of them with high quality standards, waiting to be discovered by holidaymakers. Since no part of the country is located more than 50 km from the water – either the sea or a lake, water activities take up a significant part of any holiday planning. In addition to its many islands, mainland Denmark, called Jütland, is particularly popular among camping enthusiasts. Camping in Jütland offers great and endless sandy beaches along the North Sea coastline, for example in the easily accessible Western Jütland, at Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark in Blåvand, or in Northern Jütland at Jambo Feriepark in Jammerbugten Bay. Denmark is known to be particularly child-friendly, which is why a lot of families enjoy camping in Denmark. However, the older camping generation is also discovering the country: a great number of mansions, old cities, Viking archaeology and, last but not least, the cultural hotspot of Copenhagen also make this camping destination a worthwhile place to visit.
